Maureen Ong Swee Kin

Maureen Ong Swee Kin’s drive in pursuit of knowledge has contributed to her excelling in various fields. Her passion to uplift others and spread compassion, led her to volunteer at Emmaus, Fatima and Assumption Counselling Centres. As a para-counsellor, Maureen has “a warm and kind” approach to working with individuals and groups, across various facets of society, facing depression, anxiety, addictions, grief and loss, and those going through life’s transitions and challenges.

Having completed her Masters of Counselling Degree at Open University (OUM), Maureen is currently a Registered and Licensed Counsellor and also a certified Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) Practitioner.

Maureen Ong comes with a wealth of experience and is a respected lawyer with nearly three decades practicing law as an Advocate and Solicitor in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her vast experience in handling diverse court cases spans the laws of contract, tort, commercial and banking. She is a detailed-oriented, analytical professional with proven organisational and problem solving abilities. Maureen has built a reputation for going that extra mile with her clients providing them with sound business and strategic advice. She has authored several legal reference books for legal practitioners. She further widened her skill set as a HRDF Certified Trainer in legal and psychological areas, and conducted a recent training for Yayasan Health On World (YHOW) on Healthy Minds and Psychological First Aid. She pursued the path of certified mediator, having completed the Mediation Training Course and Family Mediation Course, both conducted by The Accord Group, Australia, for the Bar Council of Malaysia of which she is a member.

Maureen is not only a proficient lawyer, but she also has a passion to identify and help those in need.
