Career assessment is based on a scientific basis of using psychometric tests. So what is a psychometric test ?  A psychometric test is a standardised test which includes series of questions intending to understand a candidates s suitabaility for a particular career.

So different psychometric tests are there which are used for career assessment. To assess the personality of a candidate, tests like Meyers Brigg Type indicator,Big 5 theory, 16 PF theory ,Jung s 8 personality type are used .Similarly to understand the interest of a candidate Hollands 6 occupational theme is used.To understand the learning style, Flemming Vark theory and Goleman s 5 element is used to understand the EQ/ EI of the candidate.

There are other different psychometric tests which are used to understand the skills and abilities of a candidate . Here Howard Gardner multiple intelligence tests, DBDA (David s Battery of Differential Ability) and DAT(Differntial Aptitude test) are used for career assessment.

Generally the career assessments are based on these scientific and standardized tests as these  gives a clear and measureable data to determine a candidates suitablity for a particular career path.

Different type of psychometric theories used in career assessment

Most of test theory (psychometrics) derives from one of three conceptual and associated statistical models: (a) classical test theory, derived from factor analysis; (b) generalizability theory, derived from the analysis of variance; (c) item response models, derived from latent trait theory.

According to my view, to fail in UPSC examination, the main cause of failure is to forget to brush up the basic skills. In UPSC exams the students approach is also checked. One should never ignore the NCERT books. Every student must include it in his / her preparations. Lack of revision, lack of proper planning and guidance, lack of mock-tests, lack of passion.

I will suggest the students to take it seriously and to be regular with studies. Study the syllabus carefully and don’t leave anything. Planning is the first step to go further. There is lot of material for preparation. The only thing is to select it carefully and make notes. Try to understand and make notes. There is no need of any disappointment or any confusion, go ahead.

Students, who wish to enter the profession of Charted Accountancy; they have to enrol or Foundation Course offered by the Institute after appearing in class 12th examination board in India. students need to register till 30 June /31st December or being eligible to appear in November /May Foundation Course Examination. Students need to complete four months study period in Foundation course and then appear for exam. Students who pass in foundation course exam move to intermediate course. Students have to complete 8 months of study course as on first day of the month in which the intermediate exams will be held for appearing in the intermediate exam. CA students have to complete four weeks integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft skills (ICITSS) while they are in intermediate course and before the beginning of articled training.

Those who qualify in the intermediate exam, then join the final course. Final course students have

To undergo four weeks Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology of Soft skills (AICITSS)during the last two years of practical training but before appearing in the final examination.

The articled training is of 3 years and a CA student can either completing the articled training or while serving the last 6 months of articled training. Students who clear the CA Final exams have to enrol as a member of the ICAI to be designated as a Charted Accountant.

Another entry method is direct entry method which is available for commerce graduates /post graduates with minimum 55% marks or other graduates /post graduates with 60% marks. Such students can enrol directly with intermediate course. Rest of the conditions remain same.

3) I always try to arrive client's life and career related nervousness and on edge.

4) I say and always keeps it all confidential with me too.

5) I don’t judge clients.

8) What makes their risk in career or life.

9) I listen and try to get as close to understanding theirs's career related requirements.

10) I build a picture of what they want to change and plan how to do it successfully.

helps them  to make it  understandable that only they can put their career or life
