In today’s era, there is a high awareness of a healthy lifestyle. More and more people are opting for the fitness program. Weight loss or gain is majorly dependent on our food intake. A nutritionist or dietician is the professional who can guide people through this process. They guide people on their vitamins, nutrients, calories, and fat intake. They also help to cure many deficiencies and diseases merely by guiding their patients through a right and healthy diet and improving their eating habits.

What are the roles and responsibilities for Dietician?

  • Nutritionist, plan and conduct food service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of the disease.
  • Supervise activities of a department providing quantity food services, counsel individuals, or conduct nutritional research.
  • Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards. 
  • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary care plans and provide nutritional counselling. 
  • Advise patients, indivisuals and groups on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. 
  • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client. 
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research. 
  • Write research reports and other publications to document and communicate research findings. 
  • Purchase food following health and safety codes. 
  • Manage quantity food service departments or clinical and community nutrition services. 
  • Coordinate diet counselling services. 
  • Make recommendations regarding public policy, such as nutrition labelling, food fortification, and nutrition standards for school programs. 
  • Inspect meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.

Student can do 12-Science . Then complete B.Sc Nutrition & Dietician. Further you can Proceed with M.Sc Nutrition & Dietician.

Career Path 2

Student can do 12(Home Science). Then complete B.Sc Home Science. Further you can Proceed with M.Sc Home Science. Further you can Proceed with PG Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics.

Career Path 3

Student can do 12-Science. Then complete B.Sc. Nutrition and dietetics. Further you can Proceed with PG Diploma in B.Sc. Nutrition and dietetics.
