Why do you need a career counselor?

A trained, experienced and holistic career counsellor is like a mirror who helps your reflect your occupational side. Schools test you on your academic subjects, however rarely do they provide an insight into your interests, values and beliefs. So a counsellor who is a trained psychologist and has extensive experience in the work industry (not just counselling) provides a very significant input that can be very helpful

Should a career counsellor respond with their pricing immediately?

How much do you charge?

A prospective client asked immediately over the phone.

This is almost a common occurrence.
Happens to you too?

Sometimes they ask pricing without knowing about the service and value proposition itself.

Should a career counsellor/service provider respond with their pricing immediately?

Ideally, we should ask 3 essential questions before sharing your service fee.

Hit LIKE if you too get asked about your fees without being asked about your service.

Comment Interested and I will share those 3 essential questions you MUST ask before sharing your fees.

This is a common problem. Especially with a service, clients need to share their requirements and the solutions can get customised for them too based on the number of sessions needed and also amount of post session support.

Have you tried to teach in a school or university or any coaching center of repute? This will help you get back in touch with your field. In the meantime, you could explore options in research if you want to.

Hi Tanvi,

Feeling confused is common, in fact it is good to explore your strengths now and udnerstand what you may be good at and what will work for you as a career option.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. When do I feel happy and satisfied, what am i doing when I feel contented?
  2. What subjects or areas in school am I good at?
  3. What do my friends and teachers feel is my strength?
  4. What are the things that interest me?

If you ask yourself the above questions and reflect on them, you might find a clue to what you can pursue as a career option. Of course, you could try a detailed assessment to udnerstand your skills, occupational personality and other preferences so you make a more scientific and objective choice.

Good luck and stay well!
